| Taking Care of Business: Free advice and information for businesses in the Midlands More than 25 State bodies and services will be available to offer free expert advice and information to SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs at Taking Care of Business, a free one-stop-shop event taking place on Wednesday, October 2, in the Sheraton Hotel, Gleeson Street, Athlone. The event runs from 8.15 am to 1.30pm. Register, free of charge, now at www.takingcareofbusiness.ie This Government of Ireland initiative is organised by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation in conjunction with the Health and Safety Authority and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. |

| Taking Care of Business - One-Stop-Shop - North East Regional Event 2015The Westcourt Hotel, Drogheda, hosted the North East Regional Taking Care on Business event on Thursday 08 Oct 2015. Representatives from 30 State Offices and Agencies were available at Information Stands throughout the event to give out information and advice on a range of services spanning business needs and activities.
Information on SOLVIT was presented to the audience as part of a wider presentation on the work of the Internal Market Unit of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. The meeting allowed us to discuss the SOLVIT network with many small and medium enterprises and to raise awareness of the assistance we can provide. |

The event had over 1,000 attendees from small and medium enterprises. This was a very successful event and allowed us to raise awareness of SOLVIT as a problem solving tool for businesses trading across EU borders. |

| Europe Direct Sligo invited SOLVIT to attend an event to promote the importance of the upcoming European Elections to young people and potential first time voters. The event took place in Sligo IT on 10 April 2014 and was attended by over 150 second and third level students.
Daniel Browne, presenter on Ocean FM, acted as facilitator for the event, introducing the key-note speakers; John Spender from Sligo IT and Francis Jacobs from the European Parliament information office in Ireland. Mr Browne also highlighted the presence of Europe Direct and SOLVIT at the event and the important information and service available via these channels. Information and promotional material on the SOLVIT network and the Your Europe information portal was distributed to the attendees following the presentations. |
